bicycle wheel building
- as teaching wheelbuilder in "drop-in and i will pay you $15/hour.." (November and December 2019), in one-on-one situations as teaching mechanic and in workshops at bikechain, (bike seasons 2018 and 2019), and, in collaboration with bikechain managers Beth Austerberry and Dave Oliver, for ONPARA, adadptive sports organization in Toronto (March 2019)

Included in the teaching workshops: basics about the history of wheels, including its ableism and disrespectful denial of Indigenous contributions; basics about the forces that wheels deal with, lacing patterns and materials; explanations of spoke tension, tensiometers and their calibration; then, spoke length calculation, spoke preparation with linseed oil, lacing, dishing, lateral and radial truing and tension balancing by using the sound of spokes when plucked, stress relief along the way.
