why do i identify as disabled?

because
our infrastructures and systems are ableist, our rights are infringed (no mechanism to claim our right to housing, and other Economical, Cultural and Social rights (ICESCR), very little respect of our rights under the the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD ratified by Canada in 2010 + Optional Protocol in 2018)); definitions of disability that cast us as lacking rather than recognizing that disability is a social construct that installs inequality, etc.) and i need to be medically labelled as disabled, which i am, to have access to the allowance provided by the Ontario Disability Support Program.

because
as i reclaim the label with others, i feel less isolated and part a community.

because
i want to fight against systemic oppression and for our rights.
