swiss postcards

"plus jamais ça" is a digital postcard sent on august 26, 2024 to all 110 members of the "Grand conseil du canton de Fribourg". this was just before their next discussion on social assistance and on the obligation to reimburse it when one's situation improves with a job. since, we know that this "Grand Conseil" has voted to keep social assistance as a debt and to keep the obligation to reimburse it.

it is not the first time that the reimbursement is discussed at the "Grand Conseil" and it is very upsetting that, again, it was maintained. like in some other cantons of switzerland, but largely not all of them, this is based on false concepts of poverty, on a lack of systemic analysis and understanding and it is contrary to our fundamental human rights. the reimbursement keeps a lot of people away from asking what they have a right to and when they do, it helps but then often brings them back to square zero when they get off. it is a nightmare.
